TAGNET Detectives Nab Second Suspect for Gang-Related Shooting in Orosi

On March 2, 2024, TAGNET Detectives in the Tulare Area Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team (TAGNET) made a significant breakthrough by arresting a second suspect in a gang-related shooting that occurred on October 19, 2023, at a gas station in Orosi.

According to reports, during their investigation, detectives determined that 36-year-old Jose Godoy was involved in an argument at the gas station. Godoy then allegedly handed a gun to his friend, Erik Garcia, who proceeded to shoot at the victim as he attempted to flee the scene. Garcia was apprehended a week after the incident, but Godoy managed to evade capture, leading to a warrant being issued for his arrest.

In a successful operation on the afternoon of March 2, 2024, TAGNET Detectives located and arrested Godoy at a residence in Dinuba. Following his apprehension, Godoy was booked at the Tulare County Adult Pretrial facility on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. They can contact the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office at 559-733-6218 or provide anonymous tips through the TipNow Program at 559-725-4194 or via email at tcso@tipnow.com.
